DOT-Qualified Collectors · HHS/SAMHSA-Certified Laboratory Testing

Kansas carriers

Testing that comes to you, and the program behind it.

Kansas carriers with CDL drivers follow the same federal drug and alcohol rules as every CDL employer: random testing at or above the federal minimum rates, pre-employment and post-accident tests, and Clearinghouse queries (49 CFR Part 382). Interstate carriers also keep a qualification file for every driver (49 CFR Part 391). Diversified Safety & Compliance can handle each of these, with our own collectors across Kansas.

A selected driver tests at your yard or job site instead of driving to a clinic. The specimen goes to a laboratory certified by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) through its Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), a Medical Review Officer (MRO) reviews any non-negative result, and the result lands in the same records as your consortium selections, driver files, and Clearinghouse queries.

Kansas testing questions

Where in Kansas do you test?

Anywhere in Kansas. Tell us where your yard, terminal, or job site is, and we'll quote the mileage before we schedule. One trip covers every driver tested that visit, so testing several drivers at once keeps the per-driver cost down.

Do you have a clinic in Kansas?

No. Our clinics are in Lincoln, Beatrice, and West Omaha, Nebraska. In Kansas, our mobile collectors come to you. Drivers who are far from our collectors can also test at one of 3,000+ partner collection sites, with the result coming back to us.

What does a test at our site cost?

$95 for a DOT lab drug test, with the lab and MRO review included, and $55 for a breath alcohol test. Mileage is $0.70 per round-trip mile from the nearest collector and is shared by everyone tested on that trip. Consortium membership is $129 a year per company.

Can Kansas drivers get a DOT physical with you?

Yes, at our Lincoln and Beatrice clinics in Nebraska, from medical examiners listed on the FMCSA National Registry. A DOT physical is $179, or $125 for consortium members. Plan on 30 minutes to an hour, and bring your glasses or contacts, hearing aids, and a list of your medications.

Do you file Kansas IFTA or IRP?

Our International Fuel Tax Agreement (IFTA), International Registration Plan (IRP), and other filings are built for Nebraska-based carriers, and filings for carriers outside Nebraska are available on request. Tell us what you need, and we'll tell you up front whether we can take it on. Testing, driver files, and Clearinghouse queries work the same wherever you're based.
