On-Site OSHA Medical Testing
One scheduled visit to your site clears, fits and tests the whole crew: respirator medical clearance, qualitative and quantitative fit testing, spirometry and hearing tests, with every result in your employer portal. Book at least 6 weeks ahead.
An on-site OSHA testing event brings respirator clearance and fit testing (29 CFR 1910.134), spirometry and hearing tests (29 CFR 1910.95) to your facility in one visit. We schedule around your shifts and post each employee's results to your portal.
Sending a crew to a clinic one at a time for respirator clearance, fit tests and hearing tests costs a lot of shifts. An on-site event does it once, at your site, for everyone who needs it.
What one event can include
- Respirator medical clearance. Employees complete the OSHA questionnaire online before the event, and our providers review each one.
- Qualitative and quantitative fit testing on the respirators your employees actually wear.
- Spirometry (pulmonary function testing), when your medical surveillance program or the reviewing clinician calls for it.
- Audiograms by CAOHC-certified partner technicians, baseline and annual.
How it runs
- We set up your roster in the employer portal and send employees the questionnaire.
- Our providers review each questionnaire before the event, so you know who is cleared.
- On the day, we test by shift, in the order that keeps your lines running.
- Results post to your portal: clearance status, fit test records and audiogram results for every employee.
What we need from you
- A roster of employees and the tests each one needs
- A room with power for fit testing and spirometry, and a quiet room for hearing tests
- Each employee's respirator, plus other sizes or models for anyone who needs a refit
- Employees clean-shaven where the respirator seals
Book at least 6 weeks ahead
That gives employees time to finish their questionnaires and us time to schedule the right people and equipment for your headcount and shifts. Employees who miss the event can be fit tested at our clinics, and starting January 1, 2027, spirometry is available there too.
Hiring for physical work as well? Pair the event with post-offer functional capacity evaluations for new hires.

Medical & Compliance Requirements
Compliance Requirement
Respiratory protection (29 CFR 1910.134(e)–(f))
Each employee who wears a tight-fitting respirator needs a medical evaluation before fit testing or use, then a fit test before first use and at least annually. Qualitative fit testing covers respirators that need a fit factor of 100 or less; a full facepiece relied on for higher protection needs a quantitative fit test.
Spirometry
The OSHA respirator standard doesn't require spirometry for every respirator wearer. It's done when the employer's medical surveillance program or the reviewing clinician calls for it.
Hearing conservation (29 CFR 1910.95)
Employees exposed to an 8-hour average of 85 dBA or more need a baseline audiogram within 6 months of first exposure and an annual audiogram after that, each compared with the baseline for a standard threshold shift.
Records
Fit test records are kept until the next fit test (29 CFR 1910.134(m)), and audiometric records for the length of each employee's employment (29 CFR 1910.95(m)).

Frequently Asked Questions
Not for every respirator wearer. The OSHA respirator standard requires a medical evaluation, usually the questionnaire. Spirometry is added when your medical surveillance program or the reviewing clinician calls for it, and we can run it during the same visit.
It depends on the mix of tests and respirators. Send us your headcount, shifts and the tests each group needs, and we'll staff the event to fit your day and include the schedule in your quote.
Yes. We schedule testing by shift, including early starts, so nobody has to come in on a day off and your lines keep running.
We retest on another size or model you have on hand, usually during the same visit. A refit is $40. An employee who can't get a seal needs a different respirator, such as a loose-fitting hood or helmet.
They can be cleared online and fit tested at one of our clinics. Starting January 1, 2027, spirometry is available at our clinics as well.
At least 6 weeks. That gives employees time to finish their questionnaires and us time to schedule the right people and equipment.
Medical clearance and a fit test are $80 per employee, or $40 for a fit test alone if the employee is already cleared. Quantitative fit testing, spirometry and hearing tests are quoted for your event, and your quote shows the full total, including travel.
